Early Decision for Johns Hopkins!?

So I applied Early Decision for Johns Hopkins, applying for International Studies Major, and I know I find out TOMORROW, but I was freaking out. I just want an honest opinion of what my chances are. I'm not doing this to brag (since there really isnt anything to brag about). I just want to be realistic when my results come in. I know Early Decision for JHU is ridiculously skewed and there's like a 50% acceptance rate, but I think my stats are really not good enough still. I didn't get the chance to have an interview! So I'm a Senior of a public school NJ. We don't rank our students. I'm East Asian. Duel Citizenship, moved here from Hong Kong when I was younger.I have a 3.56 out of 4.0 gpa (Unweighted), and a 5.06 out of 6.0. (4.2 out of 5.0) (Weighted)I've taken all honors and AP classes all my years of high school and have gotten equal amounts of A's and B's . (And one stinking C+ cuz I was retarded sophomore year)I've been involved in advanced band classes all 4 years but have only taken Honors Spanish 3 years. (I dropped it this year to fulfill another requirement)I've been in Varsity Cross Country, Winter and Spring Track and Field since my sophomore year, and I'm captain for all 3 of these sports this year. I've also notified the coaches that I'm interested in the team and they said they would support me in my application.I've been Freshman Class President, Student Body Secretary (So.), Student Body Vice President (Jr and Sr years). I've been a Peer Mediator for 3 years. I'm in the National Honors Society, and the National Science Honors Society. I've had minor work experience.Instead of an essay, I made a documentary video about my Cross Country team. I'd personally say it was pretty good. Not excellent or great, but pretty good.I have 2 teacher recommendations, and as far as I know, they should be pretty good. I trust them fully.

You’re biggest problem seems to be grades. If half your grades are B’s, that isn’t great for a school like Hopkins. Most of the applicants at that school should have basically all A’s. However, if you come from a really great high school where basically everyone is a genius, a B isn’t too bad. But if you’re from a typical high school, that’s not great, particularly since grades are the most important part of the application. SAT scores are very good, not great. They’ll help you, but they won’t single-handedly get you in. I’ll assume SAT II scores are around 700 too, which would be good too. Extracurriculars are decent. Cross-country is what I’m unsure of. If you have a shot at eventually being on the college’s varsity team, it’s a huge plus for you. If not, it’s just another extracurricular that I get the impression you’re really committed to. Either way it helps, but schools are more lenient with athletes. Also, being an international student helps your chances because you’ll add to the school’s diversity (statistically). Odds of getting in – 2:1You’ve got a lot of things going for you, but I’m just not sure how well you can do if you’re getting a lot of B’s. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if you got in, nor would it surprise me if you didn’t get in.

I actually applied ed to jhu as well; I’m really nervous too.Everything is pretty good- you have taken everthing you can academically( which they like to see), you are involved with a lot of school activities, and you demonstrate leadership skills. Your grades are a bit low for jhu standards, but grades aren’t the be all end all. You have a lot of things going for you and I think you have a pretty solid shot at getting in. Good luck tomorrow. — wish me luck too lol.
